City Council Enters Closed Session for Litigation Consultation
The City Council convened a special meeting on July 14th, 2026, at 5:36 P.M. to enter into a closed session. This session was authorized under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, Virginia Code Section 2.2-3711A, subsection 7, for consultation with legal counsel and staff regarding actual or probable litigation. The council determined that discussing these matters in open session would adversely affect the negotiating or litigating posture of the City Council. The motion to enter closed session was moved and seconded, with Councilmembers Debt and Robinson, along with Vice Mayor Aye, voting in favor, and Mayor Aye also concurring.
