Orange County Commission Releases Report on Status of Women and Girls
Reman Shibi, president and founder of Global Hope 365 and commissioner on the Orange County Commission on the Status of Women and Girls, presented the commission's inaugural report comparing Orange County (OC) women and girls to their California counterparts. The report highlights that OC women earn more on average than California women, have lower unemployment rates, and a higher percentage hold bachelor's degrees. However, OC women still earn 87 cents for every dollar a man makes. OC girls have a higher college enrollment rate post-graduation compared to boys. Regarding mental health, OC women reported slightly lower rates of serious suicidal ideation than the state average, but OC girls experience higher rates of chronic sadness and suicidal ideation compared to boys. Domestic abuse cases involving weapons in OC have more than doubled since 2015, and unhoused women are disproportionately victims of domestic abuse.

Resident Disputes Meeting Minutes Accuracy, Citing Missing Submitted Materials
