Norco City Council Approves Weed Abatement Liens for Non-Compliant Properties

The Fire Marshal presented the annual weed abatement program report, noting that property owners are required to clear weeds and vegetation from vacant lots to prevent fire hazards. Norco City Council Debates Speed Limit Changes Amidst Resident and Council Concerns

The council also discussed new state laws that could allow for reduced speed limits in school zones. Following significant discussion, the council voted 3-2 to approve the ordinance, with the understanding that staff would further investigate specific concerns and potential legislative avenues. A separate motion was passed to have the STEC committee research forming legislation for special speed limit provisions for Norco and to identify problem segments for increased enforcement.
