Stafford Township Introduces Ordinance Prohibiting Cannabis Use and Data Centers

A question was also raised about the flood mitigation assistance grants and the need for home elevation, with officials offering to investigate specific properties.
Stafford Township Receives Unmodified Opinion on 2025 Audit; Fund Balances Healthy
Stafford Township Council reviewed and adopted the 2025 Township Audit. The audit, conducted by Home and Friendly Allison, was filed timely with the state, and resulted in an unmodified opinion on the financial statements. The township's current fund balance increased by approximately $800,000 to $29.6 million, and the water and sewer utility fund balance increased by $424,000 to $12.3 million. The township also paid down $2.5 million in bond anticipation notes for the water and sewer utility. There were no findings or recommendations from the audit regarding state and federal grants, including the American Rescue Plan funds and the NJ iBank loan program. The council also adopted Resolution 2026-261, certifying that all members of the governing body reviewed the audit's comments and recommendations.
Stafford Township Approves CDBG Project, Marsh Restoration Grant, and Master Plan Funding
Stafford Township Council approved several resolutions related to grants and contracts. Resolution 2026-265 awarded a contract to Swift and Sun Inc. for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) FY 2024 CT-1531-24, Ocean Acres Park Handicap Accessible Improvements at Various Street Corners Project. Resolution 2026-266 awarded a contract to TC Landscape Construction Group Inc. for the Doc Kramer Sports Complex Sod and Infield Mix for Senior Softball Field No. 1 and Softball Fields No. 2 and No. 3 Project. The township also received a $900,000 grant for marsh restoration, implemented by Florio Perucci Stein. Perucci, Steinhardt, Capelli, and Tipton through the Ocean Wind Pro New Jersey Grant of Trust. Additionally, the NJ Department of Community Affairs (DCA) will fund the township's master plan update.
Stafford Township Awards Contracts for Park Improvements, Sports Complex, Ambulance, and Office Supplies
Stafford Township Council approved several resolutions awarding contracts and authorizing procurement. These include retaining planning services from the Department of Community Affairs Division of Local Planning Services (Resolution 2026-262), awarding a contract to Swift and Sun Inc. for park accessibility improvements (Resolution 2026-265), and a contract to TC Landscape Construction Group Inc. for sports complex improvements (Resolution 2026-266). Additionally, contracts were awarded through cooperative pricing systems for an ambulance purchase (Resolution 2026-268 to REV Ambulance Group Orlando Inc. / Horton Emergency Vehicles) and office supplies (Resolution 2026-271 to W.B. Mason Company Inc.). The council also authorized change order number two to the contract with West End KB LLC for fire company renovations (Resolution 2026-272). For water and sewer, Remington and Vernick Engineers were contracted for sewer main replacement project engineering services (Resolution 2026-43), and JESCO Inc. was contracted for a John Deere backhoe loader (Resolution 2026-44).
