Wauxahatchee Council Approves Six-Unit Townhome Development on Cantrell Street
The council held a public hearing and approved a zoning change for a six-unit townhouse development at 404 Cantrell Street, rezoning from commercial to a planned development multi-family one district. Despite one letter of opposition citing privacy and quality of life concerns, and after considering the challenging topography and the need for development complementary to the downtown area, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval, which the council ultimately granted. The development will include two-and-a-half-story structures with approximately 2,200 square feet per unit, two-car garages, and rooftop patios, with designs intended to be complementary to the historic downtown architecture.
